New to currency slabbing

I'm primarily into coins and post frequently over there but I just obtained a nice $20 specimen of MPC, Series 692 and I'm preparing to make my first ever currency submission. On the form it asks for the value of the note and I'm wondering if there is a reliable source for it's value. I've already tried to find something online and also in the Heritage and Stack's archives but to little avail. Is there another source I can use? Thanks!

PS-Was the currency slabbing company once a part of the coin slabbing company of the same name? I understand that it is a separate company.

At ha.com, if you type in "$20 Series 692" you will not get a hit on upcoming auctions. However, click on past auctions and you will get about 140 hits. As you can see, the prices range from around $2000 down to about $50 depending on variety and condition.

Please show us scans, front and back.

Thanks Grim Reaper! I had searched Heritage archives before without finding any results but I tried again and came up with the ones you cite.

Yes, PCGS Currency is a separate company from the coin grading company...and we have been since 2009. Welcome, and let me know if there is anything we can do to help!

    Is it truly a specimen?

    Post a pic, please.

Yes, a pic would be most helpful. A reliable source? well the Heritage or Lyn Knight archives are a good start to get a feel for the "value". The Greensheet(?) just take the values with a grain of salt--but they are getting better.

Green sheet ranges for regular issue:

    VG-8 -- $35

    Gem CU -- $950

Now, as lettow asked about it being a specimen, if it is a SPECIMEN then I've no clue how to value it.

The picture is really needed if at all possible.
