Any of these worth sending in for grading ??

Snagged in a auction last night for what I thought was a pretty decent price . Auctions pics and ill post better pics/scans once in hand .

Just curious as I am a Paper Money guy and was wondering mainly about the Team Checklist with players inked on the back if it would grade and if so how bad that hurts a card ?? Please excuse my ignorance on the grading of cards guys .

Checklists unmarked are more preferable, unless the card is exceptional in all other aspects-centering,corners,color,surface etc. Also which player, if one is pictured on the checklist, has some influence as well, Mantle for instance. All these comments relate to my own preference.

Pretty much the ink on the back of the team card demotes it to junk status (think a ripped piece of currency repaired with scotch tape.) It's typical for these and the fate of most of them -- anyway, no need to grade that one. Nor the Mathews or the F. Robby, both are nice midgrade cards but are off-center enough and worn enough on the corners to make it unproductive to slab them. Manush, maybe, looks nice and is a HOFer, but again typical grade for '33s, pretty worn and probably VG to VG/EX. If something you want slabbed for yourself go for it, but no need to really if reselling.

Of all of them, as usual, the Mick is worth grading; looks OK from the pics, but study it to make sure no killer creases or trimming. Centering's not perfect but it's Mantle, from the pics looks like a VG-EX 4 or EX 5, however a tiny wrinkle not seen in the pic would make it a VG 3. Overall you can get an idea of what it'd sell for in those grades by checking completed auctions.

Of all of them, your Mantle is my fave, followed by Manush. The poor team card comes in last. image Hope that helps!

For sure! These days it really never hurts to slab almost any regular Mantle card to assess its grade and arrive at a value, unless it's a super-beater. Even if beat to a pulp, though, his '51 Bowman and '52 Topps would be well worth slabbing if only for authenticity.
  • I hope you didn't pay those prices for those!!
  • Manbush looks to be of questionable authenticity
