Ebay Question

I sold some foreign currency on Saturday. About $300 worth. I was happy to see the money sell for current exchange value and bummed to see it was a zero feedback buyer who opened his account last week. Unfortunately it was two auctions and I had already mailed before I realized how bad it was. I did send with signature guarantee. The buyer sent me about 10 private messages over the weekend including "make sure to send together." It was sent to his PO box. Today he picked it up and immediately filed with Ebay on BOTH cases. Within an hour Ebay, without letting me reply, sent similar emails for both auctions:

eBay opened a case because of an issue with an item purchased from you. We reviewed the case and have decided to issue the buyer a refund of $125.00 without any impact to you.

This case is now closed. You are not required to reimburse the buyer or eBay, and this case will not be counted in your seller performance evaluation.

I have been on ebay since 1998, 100% perfect feedback at around 1,500+ transactions.

With such obvious fraud why would they refund this guy? I don't get it. Oh ya, and the guys Ebay account is still active.

I sell internationally only through the ebay shipping program. It takes the BS out of most transactions and puts it on the lap of ebay. Not worth the hassle any other way

Sorry. It was international currency I sold but scumbag is in New York who bought it. Just to clarify. I agree about international sales though.

The Global Shipping Program seems really convenient and the rates clear out all the fraudsters and unserious buyers. Two thumbs up!
