You never know what you will find in circulation

I have this habit of gathering the copper cents from the registers at night and "socking them away" and always looking in particular at 1969 and 1972 for a possible DDO. A couple weeks ago I found one, a 1972 DDO, not the BIG ONE but one nevertheless. I send robec (thanks Bob!) some of my non TrueViewed coins for imaging and I got this batch last night. It has some wear and PMD, but an apparent DDO...but which one FS-102 or FS-104?

I just thought that I would share my latest and best find from the wild.

Thank you for your interest and comments!

    Great find!

Doesn't something like this really make you glad you are interested in coins?

I am like you-I can't let a 72 go by without checking it. Have had no luck though.

Looks like die 2 to me from your pics.

Neat find. I plan on getting the good one (die 1) for my Variety Type Set......some day.

They're actually all good, but as far as value die 4 is the most valuable.

But the "lesser" ones suffer the fate of the 1955 DDO#2, which especially in EDS is far tougher than the famous die #1. But, there's that silly supply and demand thing.......

Nice find. Great to see others searching and to read of their finds.
On that note, I bought this '72 DDO on eBay from our own Smittys.
It was in an ANACS 62 holder; colorful and pretty. I cracked it out and sent it in to PCGS, and it came back MS 64 BN.
