Anyone know Jeff Wilson in New Braufels, TX?

I had sent Jeff a James Silas rookie for a signing in January. I received back a Silas jersey with a note saying "Sorry, James really wanted the card and offered you this in trade."

Now, I don't collect jerseys and the Silas card is a big hole in my all time ABA set. So I called him. He was super nice, apologized and promised to get James to sign another rookie for me if I sent one. He also said if I needed anything from Earl Campbell to send it along as well...so I sent a super nice PSA 9 crack out Campbell rookie with another Silas rookie. I was very pleased with the resolution and thought Jeff was super cool about it.

Flash forward to...3 months later and no contact, I emailed him for an update. No reply. A month later I texted him. No reply. This morning I texted him. No reply. I see that he's running a show July 16/17 in New Braufels.

Is anyone friends with this guy? If he's not going to get my cards signed, I just want them back and anyone that could pass along word to that effect would be doing me a favor.

Complete jerk move in my opinion. That's like doing a group submission to PSA with someone and once your guys' cards pop, you tell the other person "man, this card you subbed that graded a 10, I'm going to keep it because I like it, here take something else from me instead"....lunacy.

Sounds like a bully and a scammer.

If his story was accurate (I have every reason to believe that it was - he was super nice on the phone in January), the player really wanted it. I'm actually not all that bitter because he said he'd get another signed for me for free and offered the Campbell for free too. It's just the lack of contact after 5 months that's killing me.

Sorry this is happening to you, Mike.

Don't understand why the player would take the card without someone getting an OK with you first. In my mind, Fan > Player.

You handled it calmer than I would have.

Hope you get some sort of answer soon.

What the player did would infuriate me. Lack of contact would, too.

Ouch, Mike. That's a tough set of circumstances. Obviously we all hope it works out for you.

That reminds me: did you ever get any closure on that 50 Greatest Players litho that Steiner lost? Your last post, at least in the thread you started, was on 1/28/14. I really, really hope they were either able to track that thing down, or provided some VERY generous compensation.

    Was just wondering that myself.

Never found. They settled in a satisfying (enough) way. Combo of cash and merchandise. I'm actually back on the trail to doing another litho...and have 27 on my new one. I'll post it one of these days. Unfortunately, a few of the guys that I had on the other one have passed (Sharman/Moses/Schayes).

Really lame. Personally, I would not have sent him anything additional after that story about the original rookie card. The fact that he hasn't even had the courtesy to respond to multiple emails and texts illustrates all you need to know. Good luck..

The posse has tremendous appeal. Get away from the job, camp out, you're with your friends... Come on, it's a week-long game of hide-and-seek on horseback.

Unless you could get Ergoism in your posse, would the posse be intimidating?

    (is it likely that he is one of the new alts?}
