Euro 2016 - who's watching?

DrBusterDrBuster Posts: 5,306 ✭✭✭✭✭
My Germany gear showed up last night! I am ready for the Euro to start.

Lots of folks picking France to run it, but it's anybody's to win really. England, Spain, Germany, France seem to be the consensus, but Belgium better not be discredited as well (ranked #2 in FIFA right now).

Looking forward to the kickoff this afternoon with Romania/France.

Also, anybody watching Copa Americana? The US / Costa Rica game was ridiculous the other night. That penalty kick call to start the game was way soft, shouldn't have been a PK. I was texting with my co-worker in Costa Rica during the game and she was like 'wtf, this is ugly', ha!

Boy did England cough that win up

The US did what they needed to do. It was a nice 1-0 result especially since they played perry much the entire second half down a player in the heat

    Wales earned it for sure.

They were throwing yellow cards out during USA/Paraguay like rice on a freshly married couple. Surprised another man didn't get sat down, on either side.

CRC is up at the half. That's good for the US.

Caught the Portugal/Iceland game yesterday. With as many shots as Portugal had, the Iceland goalie Halldorsson was absolutely crushing it.

Cristiano Ronaldo showed no class after that match.

Agreed, on 2 fronts - the jersey and the comments. Think he was peeved that Halldorsson blocked all those shots, ha!

Germany/Poland today, got my superfan gear on! Talked to my colleagues in Warsaw this morning and they are excited for todays game. Wish I was over there to feel the energy, they say it's crazy nuts over there, especially since that office is one of our main Europe branch offices with multinationals there.

Very disappointed in the Germany/Poland game yesterday. Total lack of aggression by Germany to score. I can see a stretch to say - well they got all those yellow cards early and didn't want to press - but c'mon.

Sad to see Ukraine get whomped by NIreland.

Fell asleep during US/Ecuador for the copa, but nice seeing the W on the scoreboard this morning.

Czech/Croatia game just had flares and/or something else thrown on the field. Something small blew up when one of the crew tried to pick it up, .

Germany is going to have to play a lot better than they have.

Looks like the US will probably play Argentina while missing a few key players. I am neither an Argentine or Barcelona fan, quite the opposite, but Messi is one player I would pay to see.

Buddy of mine is Barcelona super fan and we watch games weekly across the board. Messi is a talent with few equals now, maybe 2 tops and that's pressing it outside of Ronaldo.

US/Argentina would be a better final than semi...

Spain's 3rd goal yesterday...end to end. 48 seconds. 23 passes. Involving 9 of the 11 players. And ending in a goal.

    Pretty cool.

That Russia/Wales game was ugly and England/Slovakia was a snorefest.

The Germans better show up today, NIrelanders will be hungry to score. All of those BS yellows though during the last game might have Germany wearing some nancypants again.

Spain loses. Tonight's Copa game should be interesting. I would love to see the US win, but if I was a betting man I would pick Argentina with Messi getting 2 goals.

Messi and crew will be tough as nails, I'd bet there are long and prop/side bets aplenty on the game.
