Biggest surprise about truth seeker: the life of Eric Newman

Terrific book. Much admiration for Eric Newman. However the biggest surprise to me was learning of all the scandal surrounding some of the biggest names in numismatics. Some I knew about but others I had no idea.

I've been looking for today book for ages, nobody wants to sell their copies! I have only heard good things about it though, can't wait to get my hands on it.

I mentioned this once before I had the pleasure of dining with Mr Newman and his nephew. I worked for his familes business in the 80's and 90's in St Louis. That's where I honed my craft. What a gentleman. The irony is that I didn't collect coins at the time and I had no idea that Eric dabbled in them image

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......

Once at an ANA convention I was having dinner with some friends when one of them told a story about having arranged to meet with Eric and do some research on a particular branch of Eric's collection. He went to Eric's home, and was invited to tea on the verandah. They have a lovely chat, and as the butler came to clear the table Eric pointed to the teaspoon the gentleman had been using and said "Do you like that spoon? Turn it over."

    The maker's name was BRASHER!
