89 UD Griffey pricing

So as mentioned before I have about 100 combined psa 9 and 10's of Jr.'s 89 UD's to move.
What do you think fair pricing is in relation to VCP? With listing both here and on eBay. Thx

Depends on how fast you want to sell them. Are you selling them one at a time or are you looking to sell all 100 in a lot?
    STAY HEALTHY!

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

Individually I am sure although moving them at once would be nice. Curious the thought process on the boards though for selling a semi hot modern card in relation to VCP pricing

Got some haters it seems...... I get a kick out of the haters on the board which I realize only make up a very small portion. But as has been brought up before..... If you don't like the topic of the post why would you engage in it? Anyway, thanks to those that gave their honest opinions and thoughts on my post. It is appreciated

Just an observation, but there was another thread asking about the sale of Griffey RC's in quantity, and this seems to be quantifying itself as either an obsession or the indecisiveness of a sell-off.

If you're holding a horde of red-hot cards and have an active market ready to hand over cash for them, the decision should be relatively easy. The HOF Induction is less than 2 months away. If I was you, I'd get busy.

Ed, if you decide to sell some here, let me know. I'm looking for a dead nuts centered one.

And please tell me you don't take the Griffs to bed with you. That's a lotta luvin'

  • Please ping me if any price break for fellow non hating CU members on one of the PSA 10s. Always got back 9's and even far below on this card. Need a 10 just for the sake of having one of those dang things. thank you .

Oh Jesus please don't temp him! He just might do a nude photo shoot with the Griffs.

How much would you ask for this one?

I think they were a little harsh on the Corners grade, just need to look at it as 6 corners now instead of 4.
  • Gemyanks10Gemyanks10 Posts: 1,164 ✭✭✭
The corners look fine, it's the airbrushed cap that pisses me off. Surface is clean as well.

Is that a print dot on Griffey's bat?

    That would drive me nuts.

They must be mistaken. There's more than half a corner there. I see two of them.

Not to get off track but it does like Probstein is still getting really nice prices on his auctions.

I consign everything...with my job and working odd hours, I don't have extra time to list things, deal with potential customer issues etc. Unless a friend or a board member wants to do business, I send'em and wait to collect a check. I just find it so much easier. eBay is a zoo and you never know who you're dealing with.

I'm serious. Somebody in this thread mentioned your personal collection. I didn't even know you had one. So forget appreciation, in the financial sense, for a second..... What cards do you ENJOY collecting? What's your favorite card? I'm intrigued that there might be a different side to you than just the investor.
  • VintagemanEdVintagemanEd Posts: 932 ✭✭✭
Dan your funny and let me satisfy you..... I have mainly topps from 73 through present in baseball and football with a few basketball. My favorite cards are 87 Donruss and 87 Topps because of my childhood connection to both. That should prove something right there. The 87 topps bo Jackson is my favorite. I love Jim Thome so I have over 1,000 raw Bowman Rc's...... I sure wish I was more the savey investor and I would not have so much money tied up in ones that I love. Anyway, what's your favs Dan?
  • DanBessetteDanBessette Posts: 6,421 ✭✭✭
A thousand Jim Thome RCs? Wow! My passion is Yaz collecting, but I don't have a thousand copies of his RC image

I don't know. I don't see a problem with a collector trying to invest in some cards and make a little money.

I do not think anyone does. I think it is asking the same question multiple times when you already know the answer that irks a few. Btw anyone know where I can get wood burning done. I have not seen that thread bumped in the last 3 days.

I bought him out of his entire supply....Got some good ones done of Atlee Hammaker and Alan Ashby....Id highly suggest you invest some money into some wood burnings Mike, I think they will appreciate much faster than a lot of vintage cards. I just gave away a great idea, me and my big mouth.

I would say anything is possible in the world of wood burnings. I'm going to try and stump him with a 1980 Topps Jim Bibby though.
