Might be taboo, but any coin dealers at Memphis Paper Money Show?

I am local. Threes ago there were a handful but each year less and less, last year maybe 3?

Trying to figure out if it's worth it?

At my coin club meeting, they give a run down of upcoming shows and said the Memphis show is one of the largest paper money shows in the country. No mention of coin dealers.
  • if you only collect coins, i would avoid the show... but, maybe you'll catch the currency itch if you go

Her in beautiful hot humid Memphis, just back from the SPMC's 55th Anniversary breakfast. Lyn Knight made it official at his Charity Poker Game Wednesday night that this is the LAST Memphis show, it will move to Kansas City next year. Unfortunately it will be the same weekend as the June Long Beach SHow. Show a little slow yesterday at set up. Did not seem to be as many people thus not much Buzz in the room. First auction session last night had a big turnout with big prices on the Foreign notes. Lots of Internet bidding from overseas. Well it's off to the Friday session of the show.

There are a few dealers - more than 3 - with coins here with the usual inventory. It only costs $2 to get in with the $5 off coupon on the IPMS website - so why not go. You could also look at all the nice exhibits to see if anything strikes your fancy.

I attended, just briefly on Friday morning. I was in the company of my 2 boys, (age 4, 3). My 3 year old opted to ride on my shoulders for the duration so it greatly limited my ability to look extensively. I do enjoy the show for the ability to see such eye catching designs on the currency. I did work through the exhibits, and was quite impressed with the work exhibitors put into the craft. Bought and sold a few things, overall not to shabby.

Brief show attendance as I was working the graveyard shift in the local ED, and memphis has no shortage of idiots to keep you busy all night.

Thanks, to the dealers who were kind to my children, and tolerant.

I love seeing the large denomination notes, hope to add $500, $1000 with due time. The $5000 and $10000 are always neat to see.

The expansion of world currency is very exciting and the notes are beautiful, I am just not that smart to be a 100% currency collector.
