Question about Authenticity: 1941 Yankees Team Signed Ball

A friend of mine received this 1941 Yankees Team Signed Ball for a college graduation present. He asked me about it because he was wondering about it's value.
I know very little about signed balls, especially from that era, but I do know there are a lot of facsimile balls from that era. I asked him if there was a COA with it, and there isn't.
Can I ask you guys who have more experience with this type of stuff, what do you think? Does it look legit or is it a facsimile ball?
Thanks for your help!

This might be a start; neat item!

P.S. I'd recommend sending it to JSA or PSA since some of these balls have 'clubhouse' signatures
