trimmed notes dont always fly under the radar via the TPG's..

... we've seen cases where they do, but not always:

That note doesn't look trimmed to me. Right side margin?

Maybe it was trimmed 100 years ago. It isn't readily apparent based on what looks like wear on the edges of the note.

Even if it was it was only a very small amount and shouldn't affect the grade or deserve a comment about it. IMO

Looks nice to me, but it must have been noticeable in hand ...I guess?

That note should be cut out and sold raw starting at $0.99 Then I would buy it! image

For what it's worth, I think there is at least 3 sides trimmed. Right is obvious, yes. But in my view the top and bottom don't have the characteristic rounding on the frays, they are square. Left side I couldn't make a positive assessment of, may be fine. But given the over all condition of the note, and the apparent edge wear, they don't match. Just my 2 cents worth I guess.

maybe they figured that if they bumped the grade all the way up to VG 10 that they should penalize the note in other ways to compensate.

There's still plenty of margin left even if it has been trimmed so in my opinion is wasn't worth mentioning. I have seen notes with smaller margins that definitely haven't been trimmed.

But why trim one side and not the other 3 ?? Doesnt make good sense , heck why trim that note at all !!!
