Seeking wisdom from the Ancient Coin Gods

I would like to learn a little more about Ancient Coins.

Example: Similar coins, similarly priced, that have very different patina, which one is more desirable?

I think #3 has the best surfaces/details ratio.

Honestly coin zip, I am a bit torn between 1 and 3. I agree with Civitas in that I think 3 has the better overall look. But I like the clearer legend on 1. There are some muddled areas in the legends on 3 that would make me a little batty because I like having full legends on my ancient coins, in particular the LRBs because so many of the portraits become standardized that really the legends are all you have to differentiate. Also, I am a nit.

I like the Trier, Andres. Then again, I am a sucker for mintmark collecting under the Tetrarchy and after. Cheap and fun for me.
