$5 1928E LT Mule 637 PMG 66EPQ arrived!

I was hesitant to go ALL-IN on this one the other day without being able to see the note in hand but I am sure glad I did. What an awesome note and one that is hard to ever replace. It's even in the brand new style PMG holder.

Larry, GREAT NOTE! I believe that all or almost all of the unc notes came from the same grouping that was sent to the two grading companies by the same dealer. One that we both know. Is your note in the new holder, new to the pop report or an existing note that was re-holdered?

Thanks Kraig. The other notes you are referring to were from a completely different serial # range. I also own one from that group, a PCGS 65ppq. This new one appears to be unrelated and a new discovery all together. It's in a brand new PMG holder and was obviously just submitted for grading in the past couple of weeks. This note is clearly superior to the others in centering as well. I'm going to try and find out the story behind it and if I do will post the info.

So here's the story with this note. It simply came in off the street to a coin shop in Kentucky and the shop had no idea how rare it was or that it was even a mule until they were doing the paperwork for the bulk submission. They said this note and a few other notes were throw in's to meet the requirement level for the bulk submission rate. Even then they didn't realize what they had and only insured it for $200 on the PMG form. They never imagined it would bring the kind of action that it did. Nice score for them!
