Seems like card prices are healthy again...

Just seems to be that within the past several months prices are climbing again.
Cards I used to be able to get for about $300 or $400 are steadily climbing back into 4 figures or approaching there. One example is the 1985 Topps Mark McGwire card.
Is this a sign of a healthy hobby or are there other considerations to consider?
I only list one example, but I've seen several card values skyrocketing. The 1986 Fleer PSA 10 Michael Jordan numbers are astronomical, with three sales eclipsing $30,000.
Good sign for the hobby -- but going to take more out of my wallet to get cards I want.
And unfortunately, one of the grail cards (the Jordan) might be impractical from this point forward.

The regular 1985 Topps McGwire is becoming a 1,000 dollar card in a PSA 10? Wow...I could see maybe the Tiffany version, but the typical one, that's insane.
Yeah, and I can't find a Tiffany anywhere. When one pops up I bet it will push 2K
Steroid guys got a bad rap.... There cards should go up.
I agree with that. I haven't been tracking the 1985 set that's why I couldn't believe it has become that high. Reason mostly being because of the negativity surrounding the PED's. If their cards are starting to gain that much steam, it's good. Are Bonds and Clemens rookies also going up? It seemed for awhile anyway not too long ago, the Clemens 84 Fleer Update was going down a little bit. Not sure on his 85 as like I said I don't currently collect it...
A few days ago a well centered 54 Aaron in a 6 sold for just over 4400.
80's cards are climbing. Griffey jumped from 250 to 375 in the last year or so. And I know Jordan cards are climbing too, and I don't know much about basketball cards or trends.
Yeah, the market it healthy, which is great (but its a catch 22 cuz there's a ton of cards I want and cant get at the rates they are going for now, ha)
