  • Save your money. Soft corners - especially those bottom two. This looks like it was graded correctly. Awesome centering however.

    +1

Great centering which plagues that card along with snow, but agree the bottom two corners will make it tough to bump.

Love the centering ... card presents well ... but I agree with the above.

  • Although I agree with everyone else's opinion this is one of the issues I have with the half grade system. That card is centered very well, probably better than required for the grade and because of it the eye appeal is outstanding. Arnt these two of the main criteria for the .5 grade. I've seen worse get the half grade. I was a fan of the half grade originally but am starting to sour a bit on it. It's just not consistent. Those corners must be softer than they look on the scan.

Great centering and color and no snow. I agree, it might get the bump but to me it's a 50-50 coin toss. Either way it's a gem of a card.

The corners are not a factor in going for a half point bump.

According to PSA regarding half point grades- "While PSA graders will evaluate all of the attributes possessed
by a card in order to determine if the card may be eligible, there will be a clear focus on centering."

  • I'm not one to argue on the message boards but it states they will look at all attributes. To me that means corners as well. I interpret it to keen centering is the key is all.

Taking the centering out of it initially, is this card a PSA 6 or PSA 7 based on all other characteristics? If it is a 7 on its own merit, because it certainly does not require the 55/45 or better centering that it has to be a 7, then this card should be a perfect bump candidate. As far as I know, great centering cannot lift a card to a higher grade (i.e a perfectly centered card with 2 touched corners should never get a 9)

Yes, you're right. I was just surprised at all the comments about
the soft corners. Even PSA 7.5's can have soft corners.
    We're not talking bumping to a 9.

  • I think I just misunderstood your meaning. Sorry about that.

I agree. If I decide to submit will let you guys know how it turns out. Thanks
  • No one was even talking about that it had to bump to a 9. When someone says "will this bump?", I am thinking either a full grade or even a half grade. I analyzed the card and and I say no based on my experience in this hobby. He asked for an opinion and he got various ones.

I hope it comes back even half a point higher but I don't think centering alone is going to make that happen. Again, just one opinion of many.
