Question for eBay sellers.

Anyone ever use the global shipping program for international shipping? I have some unopened 2001 baseball products that I wouldn't mind being open to the Japanese market, but I'd rather not deal with it if it's a pain.

Yes if you use the GSP you are off the hook as soon as it reaches the GSP facility in the US. Buyer also cant leave negative feedback. If it is returned it gets returned to ebay and they eat it. You wont even know if that takes place...

    Thanks for the responses!
  • I have it as an option on all of my items. It's only been used once over the past 6 months, but I had no issue with it at all. Didn't even realize that I sent the item to the shipping center. I got an email a couple days later telling me they rec'd it. Lol

Didn't realize the return thing... Nice bonus not having to deal with that.

Yeah I was mostly worried about returns, and saw quite a bit of negativity about it in the eBay community, but reading those negative comments closer, they were pretty irrational.

On the buyer side, it is extremely unpopular. Better to figure out how much it actually costs to ship and use that. Otherwise, you're just boxing yourself out of the market. GSP is like the Scarlet Letter.

You won't get many buyers from Canada as for one card it will show a $35 shipping charge. When I've asked sellers about this they had no idea it was that high.

It is the ONLY way I sell internationally. It takes 95% of the BS of shipping anything out of the equation.
IT IS ALWAYS CHEAPER TO NOT SELL ON EBAY

I would recommend just opening those listings to a specific country, GSP will open all your listings and show crazy shipping fees. Use Paypal Ship Now for international shipping at greatly reduced rates compared to GSP. For single cards to Canada for example, it's cheaper to ship there this way than within the US for a small bubble mailer. You do run the risk of SNAD cases or item never arrived, but I haven't had any issues so far.
