Are there any other world coin forums folks would recommend? By Specialty? It would be helpful to build a list for everyone's benefit as some forums may be a better fit given collecting interests.

Ones I am familiar with:

1) CoinTalk

2) CoinPeople

3) CoinCommunity

4) ATS

Here is one, but sparse posting in some forums. I think that you have to join first to get in:

The coin subreddit has a decent number of posts. The level of discussion is fairly low level, but some interesting links pop up on a regular basis.

^ I'm pretty active on reddit's coin section! That's where the YN's hang out...

Like neildrobertson said, many of the questions/posts are from non-collectors, however there are a few whales there and many of us do have a good base of knowledge and the site is 10x better than fuzetalk... Come check it out!

That forum layout seems difficult to navigate - how do you find topics by area of collecting or is it just random posts??

SMPUB is good if you like antique silver, silversmithing, etc.

Reddit is kind of it's own beast. Its strength and its weakness is simplicity. People post links or pictures, or whatever. If people read it and like it, they upvote it. If they don', they downvote it. The front page displays all of the posts with the most upvotes based on some algorithm that factors in time. You can use various filters/headings to look at new posts regardless of upvotes, look at posts with the most momentum, or a few other things. You can search for keywords or users. Reddit is often criticized for being a groupthink factory and doesnt encourage intelligent discussion because of the way its set up (and the way people are). This is clearer if you look at the main page or the larger subreddits.

Forum Ancient Coins. A very strong primarily ancient site sponsored by a dealer. Nothing on TPGs, grade points, or values but has a strong European skew and you'll find an expert (or at least someone with a strong knowledge base) for about any aspect of ancient coins. Also has an extensive fake database and set of resources.

I do enjoy that site although I've never gotten around to posting much over there.
