While Philippines notes are interesting, they were an easy "trophy" for US troops to bring home after the conflict and are therefore more common here in the US.
But Japan also printed notes for other areas they occupied, including territories held by the UK, the Netherlands, Burma and others.
This collection represents notes from the UK's Straits Settlements (Malaya, Singapore, North Borneo, Sarawak, and Brunei), as well as the earliest of the Dutch East Indies notes (denominated as Gulden, rather than the later Roepiah), and Burmese Rupees, as well as a few less common Philippine pieces.
Twenty pieces total:
Fifty Cents 1 Philippines
One Peso 1 Philippines
Five Peso 2 Philippines
Ten Peso 1 Philippines
1000 Peso 1 Philippines
Een Cent 2 Dutch East Indies
Vijf Cent 3 Dutch East Indies
Tien Cent 1 Dutch East Indies
Een Gulden 1 Dutch East Indies
Fifty Cents 1 Malaya & Borneo
Five Dollars 2 Malaya & Borneo
Ten Dollars 1 Malaya & Borneo
One Rupee 2 Burma
10 Rupees 1 Burma
The Burmese rupees are all crisp uncirculated, as is the ten dollar Malaya bill and several of the smaller denomination pieces from all territories. Both of the Philippine Five Dollar bills (which include one early and one late pattern bill) are counterstamped with the JAPWANCAP stamps--a fascinating post-war attempt to make the Philippine Congress honor the value of these notes. The other notes are in various conditions from well circulated to about uncirculated.
Asking $27 for the lot, shipped:

We are like children who look at print and see a serpent in the last letter but one, and a sword in the last.
