Yes, differences in scans (and even individual monitors) make a huge difference in comparing notes and over-printing colors. if you could scan all of the notes at the same time, using the same settings, it would help show the subtle differences. Also, notes in the "older" PMG holders have bluish cast, which is very difficult to accurately correct when compared to PCGS or unholdered notes.
