Could this 1914-S in CoinFacts be one of the lowest graded Saints in a PCGS holder?

I'm amazed at the sharpness of the MM....of course it's in a protected area, but nice none the less.

Well worn but not as worn as this 1909-S PCGS AG3.

Hmm, so those things did get used!

    Or were those "pocket pieces"?

Greatcollections had a low-ball Type Gold Set a while back, uncertified, it was in a Plexiglas holder.

Not always due to wear as this one is.

I have a frosty fresh PCGS MS63 1924(?) Saint with the face struck entirely flat. Kept it because I never saw such a flat face before or since on a MS Saint.

Definitely pocket pieces. The age of rugular circulating US gold coins had passed long before those were minted. By the 20th century they were used for bank reserves and gifts.

    All glory is fleeting.
