Would this 1979 Ozzie Smith PSA 10 get that grade today?

The back has great centering but the wax stain is very noticeable. Bidding is already over $20,000.

I think my PSA 8 looks just as good at a fraction of the price.

Crapshoot. Grading has always been haphazard, will remain so. There's some older graded cards that look tremendous for the grade, some that don't. Same for the new age hologram graded slabs. Use eye not label grade or age of flip.

I have said for years, that there was a little easier grading standards with cards in the flips with the rounded corners!!

all depends on who sends the cards in for grading

I think yours looks better than that "10"!

Shouldn't the stain on the back of the Heritage Wiz keep it out of a 10 holder?

Would the stain on the back fly for a PSA 10 holder these days?

This 8 is one of the best centered Ozzie's I've ever seen....in any grade. Beautiful card considering how notoriously centered most are found. Resub worthy???

    Thanks,

I agree, in my experience the age of the label means nothing and it comes down to finding a card that meets or exceeds its assigned grade.

I disagree. IME PSA is a lot more strict now than they were in the past, such as when this PSA 10 Ozzie was graded.
