Has a nice lime green band to the left of Lincoln, through LIBERTY

that doesn't show up the best in the photo.

Nice way to break up a nickel.

    I approve.

Cool toning, not sure how a 2009-S Lincoln Cent could 'naturally' tone like that in 7 years.

It is very common to find 2009-S Lincoln Sets in their US Mint Packaging with nice OBVERSE

toning. The most frequent is a pink/purple ring. But if you store things in different

environments, crazier things have happened. These 4 came from the exact same US MINT

PROOF set and were actually submitted by a forum member. They came out of the

    government packaging this way.

Had I not known the properties of the government packaging for this year, I too would have

been skeptical. In that packaging, a different design is printed on the obv cardboard/paper

than the rev...different ink?...which results in it being more common to just see the obverses

    dramatically toned.

That first 2009 has been my favorite for a while. There are other nice Lincolns from that group, like the 83-S and the 2002. Superb coins!

    Beauties you have there, keyman.

And yes, I have seen quite a few 2009-S proofs toned, but none as pretty as those.

    The ones I see are lavender/blue/deep orange/red.

    That's a very odd looking group of 1950 - 1964 proofs. image
