eBay Gift Cards are 5% Off at Target with a Target RedCard

Perhaps this is common knowledge, but I just discovered it. If you have a Target RedCard (their in-house credit card), you get 5% off all purchases (all the time--this isn't a short-term promo). While this discount says it excludes gift cards, it must apply only to Target gift cards. I bought some eBay gift cards, and all came 5% off. Since you can use up to 8 gift cards (combined with promos--if you have eBay bucks, you can only use 7 cards, if you have a coupon code that counts against you, too), it's 5% off any order up to $800, or $40 off an order above $800. With a sale on gold, I was able to pick up an ounce below spot.

The only annoyance is that you can only buy 3 cards at a time, so I had to check out 3 times to get all the cards I wanted, but hey, free money is free money, and the savings are better than the equivalent I'd earn with a credit card. The cards were in my inbox within an hour or two of checking out.

I read about someone doing this, then buying target cards during 10% ebay bucks promos, (so 15% off) then using them to pay the bill and doing it all over again. A lot of work, at least it would be for me.
