PCGS Guarantee Help

It indicates that if they make a mechanical - clerical error; i.e. placing the incorrect label on the slab, it is not covered under their guarantee. Each slab in my submission has the proper coin number for burnished version but the label says MS70 regular strike, not SP70. Will there be a charge to re-holder?

    Eleven 70's? Tremendous submission.

Your question: I'd imagine if you approach PCGS they will handle their error by correcting the inserts. You may pay postage, perhaps.

Do you thing PCGS customer service will help, or is there someone else I should speak to on Monday?

The 2008-W $5 Burnished Gold Eagle's are listed with an SP designation in the Price Guide, so the MS designation is a mechanical error.

393062 Shop 2008-W $5 Burnished Gold Eagle SP

Give them a call Monday and customer service should be able to help.
It's not your fault they mislabeled them, so if PCGS should pay for shipping both ways IMO. If they don't as for a supervisor and go up the chain.

Appreciate it. Just wish I had a name other than customer service. Anyone have to deal with this issue before? Wondering your outcomes...

    My error.

All burnished were previously labeled MS. Was told there has been a recent change in PCGS policy to label them SP & they will reholder silver, platinum & gold W Eagles back to '06. Looks like since the new policy was enacted SP is standard label. So a $12 reholdering fee applies only to coins graded prior to new SP policy. Please feel free to correct me if I'm misguided here.

Hmmm. Thinking not worth the fee. Below is what is posted on their website.

"Eligible coins submitted to PCGS for Grading, Regrade, Crossover, and Reconsideration, will automatically receive this designation.

If you wish to submit your existing PCGS graded coins for Reholder, please follow the guidelines below:
•For better turnaround results, coins must be submitted on their own submission form.
•Under the "Other" service level, write in "SP/Burnished Reholder" on the line provided.
•Standard reholder, shipping and handling fees apply (Secure Reholders will be an additional $5 per coin)."
