My first '54 Wilson Franks card

I have always been intrigued by this colorful set with the floating hot dogs. Was watching this one for a little while and then it went on sale so I pulled the trigger. There is a crease running horizontally through the middle of the card but I think it still presents pretty well.

  • I like this set. I dont own any of them, but hope to one day. Odd ball / Regional sets are always just so cool to own.

    Congrats on the buy.

    Daniel,

Glad you were able to get your first serving of a Wilson Franks card. I have loved these beautiful cards for over 40 years. Once graded, though the crease may not go away, being in a nice graded holder has a way of blunting its severity, and preserving it from further oopsies. Heartiest of congratulations. --Indiana Jones (Brian Powell)

Thanks all - actually, when the card is in hand, the crease is not as bad as the magnified image above. I wonder if this card could get a PSA 3 in it's present condition. A 2 should be a slam dunk but I've been surprised before.

You being a Yankee fan (or Balt?) check out ted williams. Tho Id bet you have. its the only one of wilson franks i own but is def one of my favorites of all time. You're right that it is a visually nice set. and williams card for some reason just looks perfect aesthetically.

I have a couple, with Hodges being the favorite I own. Would like to add Campy some day.

That's a nice (and tough) card!

It looks like Enos is doing a little bit of meat gazing though... image

Thats the best one I've seen in a loooong time....meaning its been awhile....a little off t/b but the corners, sharpness for a notoriously mangled, stained, beat up, condition sensitive set....just sweet. Nice.
