I usually don't buy baseball rookies, but when I do I buy a 1994 Score ARod Callup RC

The main focus of my collection is now football rookies, however I do have a sprinkling of baseball, basketball, and hockey RCs from my youth when I followed all 4 major sports.
I literally tripped over this card when I was looking at the inventory of an large online dealer. I fat fingered a search and pulled up 1990's baseball rookie instead of 1990's football rookies. I saw this card, the price seemed off. A couple of ebay searched later I pulled the trigger. I'm not a big fan of ARod, but I am a fan of this card. I believe it was a redemption. I know the SP is tougher to get in Gem Mint, but I think this card is rarer.

But no one cares about steroid use in baseball. lol
Sure.
Bonds and Clemens are at 45% and have six more years left. Not a lock, but a reasonable shot, especially since some of the most influential baseball writers put both guys on their ballot.
I got it for a pretty good price, so I figured it was worth a shot.
Besides the fact this card design brought me back to the early 1990's style with the random colors and shapes, I think the steroid guys will eventually get in the HOF.

I wouldn't hold my breath. That's a HUGE hurdle. Even if a 3rd of the voters decide to change their minds, they still wouldn't get in. I don't even see a quarter changing their minds in 6 years. Their numbers will increase every season, but never enough to make the jump.
Some of his key RCs have seen a rebound from their all time lows a couple of years ago.

The advantage for ARod is that his HOF voting time is at least 7 years away, maybe more. He is 76 away from breaking Bonds record. That will keep interest in his cards for the next few years unless he craters this year or get caught again.
Him coming back last year and having a good season really stabilized his card prices, which otherwise had entered free fall.

Your right. 1994 SP Baseball Boxes were around $150 early last year and now sell for around $200.
