That's funny Jim as I always felt you saw the world with an inverted point of view.

18 is a good luck number for Jews. The Hebrew equivalent letters for ten and eight spell the word "chai" or life. It's the root of the work L'chaim, "to life".

Larry, the two "18's" on the Chicago district is pretty interesting. four more and you would have all six and that would be amazing . The B or F, which came first?

These are the only two runs that were saved from the Chicago 88A series $20's. The other blocks got into circulation so it would be impossible to get the other four as they likely no longer exist. Back in the early 90's a dealer paired these up and sold them as sets. I had a few matched pairs at one time but am down to just this pair now.

  • Nice note! I always thought those signatures were pretty

Larry, I didn't know that history behind these pairings. Thanks for the info.

I do have the 00000061s pair.

It was early 1991 when the GB notes surfaced and about a year later when the GF notes showed up. A dealer had already broken up and sold some of the GB notes so not all of them got paired up. In fact most of them probably got sold separately.
