BP greek roman coins giveaways

Bought these on a local dutch site, these were given for free by BP gasstations some 40 years ago.
In the following countries: France - Great Britain and the Netherlands and maybe in other countries as well.
I wonder if such promotional actions were happening in the States as well ?
Looks to me an ideal way to interest youngsters in coin collecting,
what do you say.

I remember growing up in Nebraska in the late 1950's and early 1960's. The Sinclair Oil company gas station (with the dinosaur logo) gave kids huge lolly pops when their parents filled up. I've been interested in lolly pops ever since.
  • in the US in the 1960's shell oil had a presidents series of coins. This picture is from random ebay listing image

The Shell Oil "coins"pictured above were probably the most common but there were others, too.

Getty gave away scratch off tickets where one could win cash (usually $1) around the 1970s, too.
