Hopefully someone wiil come along and help with attributing those pieces for you Big Al.

I bought this drachm from a dealer in ancients who could not attribute it.

A dealer/forum member kindly took the time during a show to attribute it as a posthumous issue of the Kolophon mint.

Something about your second drachm doesn't look correct.

    Hope I'm wrong

don't have the second coin yet but looking at it again it dose have that cast look.

No returns with this seller but if TPG service asks it's counterfeit, I think I would have Paypal and ebay fighting for me.

Just wondering if any of the ancient collectors have an opinion on Big Al's second piece posted to this thread as to either it's originality or it's attribution.

Studying the image some more I'm thinking it's probably a genuine piece after all.

It's tough to judge the authenticity of the coin from the grainy and blurry photo. Could go either way I think, though I lean toward genuine.

As for mints, the tetradrachm is Amphipolis/Macedon mint. The drachm is Kolophon mint.
