Wanted to give a major shoutout to Dale. Don't know if anyone here was aware, but he has decided to donate his brain upon his death to concussion research. He, having suffered with a few from his so far racing career. I am a casual Nascar fan and don't know how many on this board follow the sport, but I just wanted to let those know, who may not be aware of this news. I just think it's a magnanimous gift on his part to make this donation for this research. And it moved me enough to create this thread. Cheers to Dale.

As someone who has had 6 concussions on his noggin so far, there definitely needs to be more study done on the effects of these. Nice gesture from Jr., even if it's going to be 50 years or so before they get to drain that Mt Dew before getting to it.

Keep in mind his dad died of major head injury in the Daytona 500 years ago.

That led to improved safety devices in the cars.

Jr seems like a good ole down to earth boy. Kudos for him and all others thinking beyond themselves.

I believe abby Wamback (woman's soccer player...spelling name right?) just said so yesterday also.
