2009 Topps Heritage Jeter Variation

I am working on putting together 2009 - 2011 Topps Heritage Master sets including all of the SSP cards. One of the cards I need is the 09 Jeter variation where it has the Red Sox logo. I've seen pictures of the card, but I've never seen it for sale since I started collecting the Heritage sets in late 2014. I know some of the SSP cards are notoriously difficult to find, but in the case of the Jeter is it because collectors have held on to them or is it because very few were printed? I am interested in anyone's feedback.

I recall the Jeter/Red Sox card. An old Beckett price guide I have from 2010 shows a Jeter VAR with a price of $200.00 value. I assume this is the card in question. Check the Beckett big book price guide that comes out yearly. There are a few members here who have extensive knowledge of all things Heritage, maybe they will check in with additional comments.

I remember reading that article in Beckett, thinking "how interesting." At the time I wasn't collecting the Heritage cards, but now that I am my thinking is more like "how frustrating." Apart from the numbered SSP cards it is hard to know what the print runs are for the unnumbered cards. For example, I have the Alex Gordon cut out card in my 2006 Heritage set. The estimates for that card run anywhere from several hundred to about a thousand being printed. The other three 2009 Heritage variations that appear in the second series do pop up from time to time on eBay, but never the Jeter. As for the price, if one became available at $200, I'd buy it without a second thought, or at least until my wife who serves as the Minister of Finance for our home checks the VISA bill! My guilt would be short lived, however, as I would have the card.

These are SSP's that were releaseed with the 2009 high series packs...but they are variations of low-series cards. All are quite rare, i think there are 7 of them (pedroia as a yankee) pujols, jeter, etc. I have never seen any of them personally, but they exist. $200 would be a steal on that jeter. They are likely buried in private jeter collections.

Any ballpark idea on raw value for this card in EX/MT condition?
Might not be gradeable but still a super rare/cool Jeter card!

I wanted to say, I love this forum as I learn new stuff most every time I log in.

Never knew this card existed - amazing - and thanks for the knowledge transfer.

This one is on Ebay now for $5k (not mine).

Since I created this post a while ago several Jeter's have come up for sale. A few days ago the Pedroia error appeared on eBay for 3K and it sold for an undetermined price. I wonder what the black and white variations of the Martinez, Feliz and Rios would fetch now?
