Stacks Baltimore Auction This Thursday

Hopefully everyone has had a chance to check out the new Stacks site. If you want to bid on something then I would suggest you go ahead and log into your account and get a feel for the new system. I tried to get catalogs to a lot of forum members who had previously bid with us at Manifest. Good Luck!

So where can you download the current catalog?

Well, that lets you look at the lots, but not download the pdf catalog.

Berny, once it finishes downloading scroll down to the bottom until the PDF screen appears then a simple click on the 'floppy disc' sends it to the location you choose. image

But I can't seem to find anything to click on to download anything? I click on the cover of the auction catalog and nothing happens.

At the auction catalog library there are actual links to the pdf files. This is not true for current auctions.

  • On the homepage, under each auction session there is a link to "Download Catalog PDF". Click that. Here is the link to the currency catalog: http://media.stacksbowers.com/...lt_Curr_Catalog_LR.pdf

    Thank you!

Either I am going blind or the introduction of software that favors the small Iphone screens makes the writing on laptops so tiny that I missed it.

Appears it's a miracle I stumbled upon the download. Maxcrusha's link was broken for me missing the : after https. After I edited and added the : to the link I got the "no script error, please enable Javascript". Enabled Javascript and the page refreshed and and I clicked the "Return to STACKSBOWERS.COM" that sent me to a page showing the current catalogs. Then found the currency catalog and hit the "Download Catalog PDF" and it downloaded the PDF which allowed me to save it to my computer (23.6MB) to view off-line. Now if you understand anything I just typed you'll understand why I said it was a "miracle" I was able to download the PDF. image Even I'm confused at what I just typed.image

Easier method, go to www.stacksbowers.com ?

Yup, that works. Just find the catalog you're looking for.

Berny this new software seems to suck. Trying to make it compatible for newer technologies like Iphone, tablets, ect. has caused numerous problems for us technology challenged. image

I agree! On my MacBookPro, if I press "command + or -", I used to be able to resize the type. Now, for many sites, if I want to increase the size, it actually decreases it and increases the size of the ads such that the ads almost eliminate what I really want to see. I guess "follow the money" is in order.

I think the new software is pretty good... but I would like to see a couple things...

Default the number of items show to 96... (or 100)

Also and more importantly... the page controls also need to be at the bottom...

I go to the page, max the number of items per page and then scroll along... When I get to the bottom I need a next page.
