Yup, charter 5528. The First National of Manchester. 6 in the census of which 1 is small. At least 1 was sold thru Heritage a few years ago.
Thank you sir , just wanted to make sure before i started a wild goose chase . Gonna be a gift for my stepfather providing i can find a decent one at a reasonable price .

One man's reasonable is another man's outrageous.
The one note Heritage sold was a $20 1882 DB for $ 7,475 in January 2012.

+1
The commentary in the Heritage sale is interesting: the $20 was new to the market and the other notes on the bank, already listed in the last Kelly census, were all tightly held. And at least 2 bidders thought $7k was reasonable for the note. Might be a while before another comes to market, at ANY price, but you never know...

Get the image of the proof from the Smithsonian project. Then use photobucket or another company to make a canvas wrap print! I did that for a buddy on a California Bank for a birthday present and it blew his mind!
Great idea and he'll have several to choose from!

They haven't quite made it to the Tennessee proofs yet, Tooky. At this rate, it'll probably be a few months at least.
