i just noticed a 1979-80 opc hockey pack up on ebay that is a psa 10 i didnt realize the gum could make it look so bad....

That has to be the worst looking pack I have ever seen, hands down (and gum out); that would look out of place even in a psa 1 holder

That might be why they stopped accepting packs, without certain undesirable qualifications, and redesigned the holder
