% Complete in Registry. Peace Offering Also. (Smile)

I'm lost what Does this Mean and How is it Figured ? Is there a New Math here at the Registries.
Many years ago I learned that You Devided the total number of Items in the Set into the Number You have and That will give you the Percent Done or in this Instance Complete.

Something like this I Think: Set has 100 Items

You have 90 of the Items.

Devide Your 90 by the Total 100 which gives You .90 which Relates too 90%.

Now here is My problem. I have been told that this is not true because of the Weighting. In My Set the Weighting apparently does not Recognize 3 of My Dimes because My completion % reflects that the Set is Short 3 dimes more than it is. This is also True about other Sets in the Mercury Dime Series.

Hmmm........This Guy is Really Baffled by the Newest Math.imageimage

        Ken,

Percent Complete is # coins owned / # coins in set

Weighted Percent Complete is total weights of coins you own / total weights of coins in set

First number is column 2 in the registry. Second number is multiplied times your GPA to get your Set Points.

Percent complete is off of the number of coins, not the weightings.

Weighted set average is off of the weightings.

You CANNOT just multiply the percent complete times the weighted average to get the set rating (seems like you should be able to but you can't).

Number of coins in Set= 77

        Number of Coins Owned= 72

        Per Cent Complete= 93.5

        Is this Correct ??

If You say Yes, this Is Not what PCGS and BJ say.

        Set Shows....90 only. ..New Mathimage

Should be 93.5% like you suggest, except that the Mercs are so thin that it takes more than one to make a full coin. image

Now I know why none of the major sets have been copied to the Basic set. They didn't want to be less than 100% complete.
