1986 Steve Young showing pack price advice

I've seen the posts highlighting the rise in 1986 football prices recently and this past weekend a deal came across where I didn't know how to price my Steve Young showing pack. I only own like 10 football packs and 5 of them are Favre rookies, so I thought this would be worth more than I was offered. Any thoughts out there on what a fair price is for one of these?

Not sure on a price, but if Cello pack sequencing runs the same as rack packs, there is a good chance there is a Rice RC in there as well.

Only one way to find out!

I would think a raw one would go for $110-125... not sure how much, but there has to be a premium for being graded too. Raw Rice cellos have been going for around $155-170.

Oh wow that would make it worth ripping, can anyone confirm the cello sequence is the same as the racks?

Thanks Baz, I was hoping the pricing would be near $200.

I think it is really horrible that people know sequencing like this and even worse that you would share this information out to the world to know. This type of information only kills the value of the other packs that is void of the star/rookie cards.
Looking for high grade rookie cards and unopened boxes/cases

Here's a PSA 9 w/Young on back that sold for $90 (via BIN).

That's the one bad thing about eBay sales, you never know if the transaction ever completed. That sale never did complete... although I'd buy the OP's GAI pack for $90! image

Yeah a Recent Rice cello just went for over $300 so I'm glad I decided to hold onto the young pack. Still a temptation to rip it, but I do open so few I probably won't.

    Rice pack

I never posted the full sequence, and I don't even remember it. All I said was that the Rice comes before the Young in a Rack. I didn't say which cards to look for on top for a Rice or Young.

So the only thing everyone knows based on my post is that if you have a Young on bottom of a rack that there is a Rice, and if a Rice is on top that there is a Young. That's it.

I was surprised that pack passed $300, but it was PWCC. I had a snipe set but wasn't near that... thought it be closer to $250-275. I bet your pack is probably closer to $200 than I thought. If you're keeping it, and it looks really clean, you could try to cross to a PSA slab. Assuming it stayed a 9, it would be closer to that Rice pack.

Yeah I've got a few I should cross to PSA, I'd even be happy to take an 8'on it, but I've been disappointed their pack grading lately and haven't sent any in for a while. I'm more tempted to open it up and see if you Rees a Rice, if I could get a 9 in either I'd be well ahead.
