1979 Topps Baseball 6 Wax Packs Rip

These are the cards that I purchased from Tim and thought I would share the RIP with the members. I do think Im going to keep the 78 rack for a little while or maybe I will just have a crazy hair up my a$$ someday. Here are the packs, Thanks Tim for the great looking packs.

The Patek looks gem. Centering is always so tough on the 79s.

The Thrid Pack. Just as I was expecting a perfectly centered crisp Dave Winfield, NOT today though.

Some very nicely centered cards in the mix. Porter and Rivera look very sharp. Need an Ozzie!

Pack # six Well Overall that was fun. Didn't pull to much star power but really how often do you get a chance to open some older packs. Thanks Tim for the fun.

Sorry no big hits. Looks like a fun rip and that matters more. Good luck if you decide to sub any of the sharp looking cards you pulled.

I guarantee a Nolan RB in that 1978 rack. Take it to the bank.

Thanks for sharing the results, Mike! I'm sorry centering wasn't better overall but there are some cards definitely worth submitting from those packs. 79s are one of the toughest of any issue from the 1970s centering-wise, worse even than 75 minis.

Overall it was fun, I think that was the first time that I ripped 79's before. I know the centering is brutal with that set and don't see why some more of the 9's and 10's aren't worth more then they go for. Ill bet on the Nolan as well as far as what I can see it is a stunner, well centered, crisp corners and don't see any flaws with the front. Its very very tempting to open lol

Murphy and Matthews in the same pack. I would've been thrilled with that in '79.

The Wayne Nordhagen is the printing error/variation version that is missing most of the top border line. It isn't overly rare.

Thanks for sharing Mike. Too bad no Ozzie. Best of luck with that '78 IF and WHEN you open it.

The Adrian Devine looks pretty minty to me. Maybe I'm missing something. Whole lotta Braves love through that break!
