1935E $1 Silver Certificate question

Please excuse my ignorance but what am I missing about the pictured note? The 10th edition of Small-Size Paper Money (page 44) says:

Low: N46944001G

High: P81000000I

Unlike FRNs, SCs start with AA block, then BA, CA, etc. before going to AB block. So FI is a higher block than NG.
  • FI is between NG and PI. ??? NG>ZG,AH>ZH,....AI....FI....PI

Yep. There was NG through ZG.

AH, BH, CH, DH, EH, FH....... to ZH

AI through ZI and so on.
  • Thanks for your replies and erudite explanations. Not sure I've got it completely sorted and assimilated but I'm learning. image
