VCP Search Function

Am I the only one that has issues with the VCP search function? I just tried to search for a 1960 Topps Mantle and got this: No results were found for topps mantle. It seems that I either get that message or if I search for something like 1954 Topps Hank Aaron it brings up every card with any player name Hank. It is frustrating having to spend 5 minutes trying to find one card.

jfkheat, I searched the 60 Mantle and the 54 Aaron and they both worked.

Try using 1954 Topps Aaron or 1954 Topps #128. Also sometimes when I am searching values I forget that I clicked on basketball and start searching a baseball card under basketball which causes a no result. Hope this helps.

I always search with "keywords" highlighted in white. Many times it switches by itself and highlights "set name" and then the search does not work. It is very annoying. Instead of typing 1954 topps aaron try 1954 aaron topps.

Which search line are you using? First one that says keywords, or the second one that says player last name? I tried the first one with 1960 Topps Mantle and 1954 Topps Hank Aaron and they both came up fine. If you use the second line, it does not work.

VCP's site is definitely tough to use sometimes. Elite-cards.com has a pretty user friendly search function, especially on mobile devices. They don't have the historical data like VCP because they haven't been around as long, but as time goes by they obviously build their data set, and for commonly traded cards like a 1960 Mantle with lots of sales, that happens pretty fast.

Just go to this part of the search engine and type in Mantle or Hank's name in the name search. As you type the name, pre-loaded options populate a pull down box.

This. When I'm on my desktop, I can easily type fast enough to keep it from switching. Good luck when I'm on my phone or iPad. Grrr.

Thanks for all the responses. I have been using the search at the top of the page.
