Murphy 1989 Upper Deck Error Card pickup (hopefully from no one here)

I haven't really collected in YEARS (decades actually), but I lurk on the boards and read other card related stuff.

I just happen to be browsing around ebay and saw this, and for .99 (a total of $3.50) I had to have it.

89 Murphy Upper Deck

Hopefully no on on the board was the seller.

Nice pickup! Why would you hope no one here is the seller? The E/V market in cards has been really soft for a while and I would bet the seller is glad to get any bid.

It wsas a buy it now for .99, which I think was an error. I am pretty sure it was supposed to be a starting bid of .99.
  • Grossly overpriced. Condolences.

Raw ones have sold for between $13-$42 recently on ebay. The seller put "rare" in the title and put "no reserve" in the description. It almost had to be a mistake.

Nah...already received the card no problem. It was a very smooth transaction. In fact, he even sent the heavy slab protector. That alone goes for a couple of bucks.

Has anyone tried reaching out to the seller yet?
  • I'm sure when someone on these boards gets wind of this sale, they will go above and beyond (as usual) trying to get ahold of the seller and letting them know what a huge mistake this was. image

Looks like the seller kept his end if the deal, unlike some of the blow hards on the boards
