The window for a Cowboys Super Bowl in the Romo era ended with the reversal of that Irvin catch in GB.

I still can't believe that Jones pushed for Romo to get back onto the field last season when it was clear to anyone with half a brain the Cowboys had no chance at making the postseason, no matter how weak the NFC East was.

I said before last season they were headed for a 7-9 season even with Romo, and once he got injured, they were that much worse.

Looking bleak in big D. They need a new owner and a new head coach, too. Romo is the only reason the team was even relevant prior to last season.

Vegas has the Cowboys at 9.5 wins next year. In the East that could win the division by 3 games

Predictions don't mean squat. That's why they play the games.

I agree with grote's assessment above. If Jerry would turn it over to his son....and please get a new HC. Maybe just maybe we will start to improve.

As always I am looking forward to a new season just to see how we are going to do. The first 3 or 4 games usually is a good indicator.....barring injuries.

    It's not a prediction.

A healthy Romo and they win 10 games easily. He is that good. A hurt Romo and then there will be 11 guys in the box

You put 11 in the box.........I could throw for a TD!image
  • Romo will forever hold them back. He's just not a clutch QB. And I love when he gives interviews about his dedication from the 18th fairway.

Serious question. Is he better QB or a better golfer?

Romo has one of the best 4th quarter QB ratings and comeback records among active NFL QBs.

I think what thebaseballcardkid means is that in games that count....like playoff games.

And I would have to agree with him. I know he has all kinds of stats, but you can count his rings on zero, zip, zilch fingers!image

I wish he would just retire really and we go out and get somebody really good.

And of course get a new HC!!!

You have only to look at last season to see what a difference Romo makes when he is in there. Do you think the Cowboys even get to the playoffs in 2014 without him? If so, you haven't been paying attention.

QBs tend to get too much credit when the team wins and too much blame when they lose. In reality, the supporting cast is what determines a team's greatness. (Look at Manning & Denver last season for a good example of this~Manning puts up video game stats every season and is labeled a choker when he doesn't get that second ring. In 2015, he is arguably one of the bottom 5 QBs in the league and he gets his ring.) Fans see what they want to see and perception is always subjective, but the stats don't lie.

Aikman wouldn't have had any rings, either, had he played with the Cowboy teams Romo has played on. That's just the way it is.

I agree somewhat....except on your Romo/ Aikman comparison. Tony has had very good help. Dez Bryant is as good as Ervin and they have had good RB's. Not like #22 but good.

Romo just doesn't get it done. Now he is too old and banged up. They need to replace him quick.

Dimeman, the Cowboys have had one season in which they had elite performance by a RB under Romo, and that was 2014 with Murray. Not coincidentally, that is also the year they advanced in the playoffs, too.

We have beat this horse to a bloody pulp.......let's agree to disagree.

    You like Romo......I don't.

I'll be routing for the Cowboys no matter what this fall.image
