Mint Packaging - error or pmd ?

davewesendavewesen Posts: 6,569 ✭✭✭✭✭
I have a 1965 SMS with a damaged nickel
as far as I can tell it is machine damage from sealing machine
it was not done in this package, but done before leaving mint
would this be pmd or post strike damage? and would it be considered a mint error?

    PMD by the sealing machine.

Post-strike damage (PSD), would be more appropriate in this case. And it would not be considered a mint error.

It is interesting however, since it is still in the mint set packaging.

I've seen one before that was up in the corner and the same pattern as the sealed plastic from the sealing crimper.

The coin was struck OK, but damaged during the packaging process.

As stated, keep it in the sealed plastic.
