I attended and analyzed all four Gardner sales. Collectors wishing to acquire coins with a Gardner pedigree are still in luck. Many of these have been re-appearing. If the catalogues of upcoming Heritage, Stack's-Bowers and Goldbergs auctions are searched for the name 'Gardner,' then many Gardner Collection coins can be found.
Some have returned. There are more than twenty Gardner coins in the Summer FUN auction this week! There were also quite a few in the Central States Auction in April.
One of the benefits of such re-appearances is that more collectors may learn about the incredible nature of the Gardner Collection. Another benefit is that collectors who missed the four sales may compete for Gardner coins at later times.
I seem to be only one who has analyzed the greatness of the Gardner Collection. For example, Gene probably had the third all-time best set of Barber halves. He certainly had the all-time best set of Barber quarters. In historical terms, his collection of Liberty Seated coins is alone at the top, way above all others.
