Peace Dollar Counterfeit experts?

USMC_6115USMC_6115 Posts: 3,012 ✭✭✭✭✭
I have a 1923 Peace Dollar that I picked up at the the dealer today. It has a weak E in "In God We Trust." It has a small unrecognizable mark where the engravers initials would be and it does not stick to a magnet. It is a bit worn, but I am not sure if the initials are something that wear first. It has the normal "ping" as other Peace Dollars I have. I need to get a scale to weigh it.... thoughts?

Thanks!

I know... I am not sure my picture taking skills would be very helpful, though image

Unfortunate, as this is kinda worthless without pictures.

Very likely to be just weakly struck. A common date counterfeit just seems unlikely.

I'll TRY to take some pics tomorrow and see what I can do.... I agree with you "DollarAfterDoll.. " as I don't see any upside in counterfeiting a common date Peace Dollar...thanks again, everyone.
