I'm supposed to be saving my money for the end of the month sale, but Josh tempted me with this one, and of course I succumbed to temptation. These are very tough coins, no prices listed above EF in any of the references, and uncirculated examples rarely coming to market.

GERMAN STATES Wied-Neuwied Johann Friedrich Alexander 1753 1/4 Gulden (Viertelgulden) NGC MS-63

First a County and elevated to a Principality under Johann Friedrich Alexander due to his success in mediating between the Protestant Churches and Catholic Imperial Court. He promoted the construction of a Moravian and a Mennonite church as well as a synagogue in Neuwied and wholly implemented his grandfather Frederick III's tolerant religious policy. He was considered one of the finest practitioners of Enlightened Absolutism.

No need to blow sunshine. I like you anyway, despite your being from the Lone Star State.

Seriously, I can get you started if you want. I emailed Zohar some tags tonight that he can use to copy and paste. All you need is MS Word or Mac Notes. And, we can help each other get the info correct. It's been a lot of fun for me. My life is stressful. My job is stressful. I feel like I can use this hobby as an escape, and writing tags is a cheap, fun and educational exercise.
