Another interesting bidding history...

$240k for 30 sets of Air Jordans. I'm not a basketball guy, so maybe one of the basketball guys can respond if these shoes are worth this much. I know it is a 1 of 2 type situation, with Kobe Bryant owning the other set, but wow.

The bidding was between two bidders, one of them had a zero feedback history. Coincidental?
  • Not if it's a couple very wealthy people who rarely bother with eBay, but wanted to bid each other up for a large donation to Bryant's foundation. I don't claim to know this as fact, but it would seem to be a logical scenario.
  • Oh my goodness. The same charity auctioneer just sold a Stevie Tyler Skittles portrait. I really thought I'd seen everything.

0 bidder with 100% with seller.
If I won and wanted the item I would offer to pay $100K (OPENING BID) or else let the under bidder have them at $240K, NOT LIKELY!

New bidder that just joined ebay and has only bid on one item. For an auction like that, it seems like that would be pretty normal. Most regular ebayers don't have that kind of money.
  • Maybe we missed the part about it being charity. It's charity. You know, when people share their wealth with others less fortunate. And suffer through a temporary identity crisis. It's different.

There are many reasons a new account may be started. Some legit some not.
And believe me there are plenty of regular ebayers that DO have that kind of money!
