Opinions on qualifiers

Personally for my own collection, I really do not like collecting or having cards with qualifiers. However, for the cards I am not planning on keeping, I don't know how I feel about submitting cards and asking for qualifiers.

Would you rather submit a card and receive a grade of PSA 9(OC) or PSA 7 if you are planning on selling the card anyway?

    I think probably a 9 with a qualifier.

I had a Robin Yount rookie that I pulled from a rack pack several years ago.
It was a beautiful card but had a print defect(Orange blotches on the left side)
Finally had it graded and it got a PSA 9 PD.
Sent it to PWCC to sell and it brought $130, more than a PSA 7 would have brought.

The 87-88 fleer Jordan psa 9oc sells for around 100 while a psa 7 copy sells for around 65+. I believe a psa 9pd with strong centering sells for much more than a psa 9oc but not exactly sure, have to re-check my spreadsheet.

The prices of early Jordan cards have been rapidly increasing so these prices may even be higher today. I haven't looked at my spreadsheet for a while.

It really depends on the card and qualifier. I bought a card with a PD qualifier that didn't seem to have a print defect. Sent it in and it went from a 9pd to an 8. If a card presents well and has an OC qualifier as in example above it is fine.

Many people avoid any cards with qualifiers.

I will take a 9oc depending on the player and its avalability. For my personal collectionI am more concerned with corners increases and the cleanliness of the card the centering unless it's Miscut is a very little concern.

    I'd probably sell them raw.
