Mt. Rushmore of Basketball

Gee, golly. I just loved the SMR story about the Mt. Rushmore of Hockey cards --

Mt. Rushmore of Hockey

and it got me thinking. I wonder if we could do the same with basketball cards? Instead of a Mt. Rushmore with hockey cards we changed it to basketball cards only? Seems like it would be fun. I think there would be a lot of great debates. I mean, George Mikan was great but would he do as well in today's game? I'm just going to lounge around my Mom's basement and think this over today.

  • This is so cool. Thanks. I should have figured someone else thought of it first. I just love this hobby. Can you imagine if we could get Mt. Rushmore to shine the cards onto the actual Mt. Rushmore for just one night? Maybe in the summer?
  • That is so cool. Can you imagine what it was like when that Teddy Roosevelt card was collected and traded? It looks well worn! Kids in those days must have loved collecting that stuff. They would probably come home from school, look over their collection and then decide what to trade and what to keep. Maybe have a snack, do a little homework and then head over to a friends house to trade cards. (Actually, I'm getting a sense of what life was like in the GDR...)
  • Fun with censors...
  • De-code it fellas...

If Joe Orlando does the 'Mount Rushmore of Wacky packs' in the next SMR, I'm quitting the hobby.
Although I do love wacky packs, brings back some fun childhood memories.
Lets just please be done with the Mount Rushmore stuff.

You mean you aren't all amped up for the Mt Rushmore of Garbage Pail Kids cards?

The Mount Rushmore thing has become such a stale topic, something sports radio shows use to kill a few segments on a slow day.

MLB had fans vote for their Mt Rushmore of each team before the All Star game, and for many it was extremely obvious, and for others, there wasn't enough history for it to make sense. I get it, I'm sure people enjoy it, but c'mon. It's pretty blah.
