advice needed on hand cutting cards from boxes

I would like to cut a few cards from Wheaties boxes (and various other panels and similar) to send in to PSA. Please offer advice on how best to hand cut cards.

Its like a fine surgeon playing the game operation...the second you misscut, its like that buzzer goes off and pisses you off. Then you just sit there and say "Oh Fu......," especially if it is something valuable...

On the other side, if you pull off the flawless cut, it is like a work of art

Has anyone ever tried using a paper cutter? Kinda like an X Acto Heavy Duty 15 x 15 Paper Trimmer, pictured at

I have used a paper cutter to cut panels of 1976 Hostess cards. They usually come out really nice. Here is an example of one:
