The Mint is holding a contest for the design of the WWI Centennial Commem. (Don't blame the mint. This contest is an Act of Congress...)

Oh, and I would also like to lobby for a commemorative in 2019 for the sesquicentennial of the Transcontinental Railroad. (1869-2019)

Up to 20 applicants from Phase One will be selected to participate in Phase Two, where they will create and submit designs and plasters for the final coin.

One young lady to represent each of the countries involved in the conflict. Of course a
nip slip or two would have to be strictly forbidden. Our country is more prudish now than
It was in 1916, when the SLQ came out.

I hope Dan Carr enters.... and wins.... he has great designs. Cheers, RickO
Thanks, I'll probably give it a go. One thing that is different about this competition, compared to other recent contests, is that the chosen artist will actually sculpt the design as well. I think that is a good move on the Mint's part.

It would be poignant to have, "The War to End All Wars", on one of the sides.
As well; an olive branch in the clutches of a perched eagle's talons, on the other.
Too many positive BST transactions with too many members to list.

Really? You take this opportunity to denigrate a very talented forum member who has been honest and forthright about his artistic endeavors on this coin forum.
Seems to be a veiled attempt to mince your words when you labeled Mr. Carr a fake coin artist. Fake coin artist or fake con artist, could be blurring the line here.

Wow Dan !
Though I've been through every page of your website it is nice to see that resume drawn up in such detail by an outsider . He did a wonderful job in showing a majority of examples you've created and a nice history of your different accomplishments, which brings us to the current day .
How anyone can deny the amazing mark you've made on the world of numismatics is beyond me.
Keep on creating and finding new ways to amaze us all with your creations .
Congrats my friend and good luck in the competition
Sincerely, BP
